At the Child Care Collection, we research, film and produce training materials (video and print) for early childhood professionals. Over the years, thanks to work that began with Vivian Paley, we have developed a special interest in the use of story with young children.
In addition to writing, filming, editing, training and blogging, we also collect stories in a variety of preschools. So far, we have stories from children in Indiana, Maryland and Michigan (many of which were told in Spanish).
(We also have stories from children who were in an airplane somewhere over Iowa. As Grandpa read his book, three boys dictated stories that offered clues about the things they were thinking as they flew to California while mom stayed back home in Indiana, waiting for the new baby's arrival.)
